Apple Voice Recognition for Improving Siri and Dictation
Apple clarifies that the audio it collects is the raw data, unlinked to users' accounts or user's private information, to train new artificial intelligence voice recognition models and assigns human reviewers to transcribe and annotate the clips to aid model training. If you opt in to Improve Siri and Dictation, the audio of your interactions with Siri and Dictation may be stored on Siri servers and reviewed by Apple employees to develop and improve Siri, Dictation, and natural language processing functionality in Apple products and services.
For general text Dictation performed in the game (for example, use voice to summon 3D game objects to solve the puzzles), transcripts and audio are not shared with Apple by default, but are shared if you opt in to Improve Siri and Dictation. You can delete interactions associated with a random identifier and retained for six months or less by going to Settings 》 Siri & Search 》 Siri & Dictation History and tapping Delete Siri & Dictation History. You can disable Siri and Dictation by going to Settings 》 General 》 Keyboard and tapping to turn off Enable Dictation. Then, go to Settings 》 Siri & Search and tap to turn off “Listen for ‘Hey Siri’” and “Press Side Button for Siri” (or “Press Home for Siri” if your iPhone has a Home button). You will not be able to use voice to summon 3D objects once you disable dictation.
At all times, information collected by Apple from your use of Siri, Dictation, or Translate will be treated in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy.
